My Take – Mississippi State Football This Season

Mississippi State got off to an outstanding start this season. In fact they started the season 7-0. They had a ranking of 11 in the poll. The Mississippi State fan base had unreal expectations. “WE BELIEVE” was the chant heard for miles around Starkville, Mississippi. So why were they a 24.5 underdog at Alabama? I contend that the Bulldogs 7-0 record was fraudulent. How could an unblemished record be considered a fraud you ask? Here is a look back on how the Bulldogs started their season undefeated.

The Bulldogs first opponent was at home against Jackson State. Jackson State is basically a Division II team. They play horrible opponents every week. The Bulldogs won the game convincingly 56-9. Jackson State’s record is currently 4-4.

Their next opponent was at home against the Auburn Tigers. This was supposed to be a tough game but it was not. The Bulldogs won 28-10. What a great win everyone thought. Not so fast, the Tigers are currently sitting at 1-7 and their coach may be fired before seasons end.

The next game was their first away game at the Troy Trojans. A close game which the Bulldogs ultimately won 30-24. The Trojans are not very talented and they play poor opponents. The Trojans losses include Louisiana Lafayette,Western Kentucky, and Florida Atlantic. These teams are not exactly world beaters. Their record currently sits at 4-4.

State’s next game was a home game against South Alabama. Again, another weak team in a weak conference. The Bulldogs won 30-10. The Jaguars have many losses against horrible teams so far this season. Their record currently sits at 2-6.

ufabet บอลชุด-14. Kentucky is currently fighting with Auburn to be the worst team in the SEC. Their record now sits at an astounding 1-8. KY coach Joker Phillips’ job is officially past life support and is flat lining as we speak.

The next opponent was a SEC home game against the Tennessee Volunteers. This was Miss.State’s first challenge. They scored late and hung on to win 41-31. I think Tennessee may be a top 50-60 team. Their record currently sits at 3-5 and 0-5 in SEC play.

Their next opponent was at home against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Yet another weak team that plays weak competition every week. The Bulldogs looked strong and won 45-3. The Blue Raiders record is now 5-3.
